Former PM Raila
Odinga’s campaign manager Eliud Owalo has said that he will have David Chirchir rejected from his appointment as secretary of energy and petroleum.
In a statement, Owalo faulted President
Kenyatta for the inclusion of politicians in the new look cabinet saying, it did not auger well with the Jubilee campaign promises.
In the 12 list of nominees unveiled yesterday, Uhuru nominated Charity Ngilu, former Water minister and Najib Balala formerly of Tourism to Lands and Housing, and Mining dockets respectively. Four nominees were unveiled on Tuesday.
“We will raise pertinent concerns on the suitability of Mr. Chirchir to serve in the cabinet arising from the issues related to his role and conduct in the last general elections to which he has been adversely linked to,” said Owalo.
He urged Uhuru to ensure that the remaining two slots are not reserved for politicians “deemed to possess strategic values to the Jubilee coalition as opposed to a service delivering government."
